Glimpses of God’s Glory Dawn Marie Wilson, October 5, 2026 When I wrote Truth Talk for Hurting Hearts: Discover Peace and Comfort through God’s Perspective, I was coping with the emotional pain of a terminal diagnosis. Seeking God’s perspective became a lifeline. One day, I realized how often I’d referred to God’s glory in that book. I wondered whether Christians—me included—understood the biblical concept of “glory” I decided to investigate the topic, and some of the most surprising changes have come in my life from that investigation. Pursuing God’s glory has refreshed my walk with Him in ways I never anticipated, revived my purpose to live “to the praise of His glory” (Eph. 1:11-12), and refocused my faith as a more observant, grateful Christian. Soon, I’ll release a new book, Glory Now And Forever, which expands on the topic of practical ways we can reflect God’s glory. I want to flood my life with glimpses of God’s glory in everyday living, so that I can properly reflect it. Here are five ways that I’ve seen “glory glimpses” just this week. Maybe they will help you envision where you can get a glimpse of God’s glory. 1. Viewing God’s Glory through Nature. The beauty of wild red roses and a glorious sunset are only two places I recently saw God’s glory in creation. Whenever I see the wonders in creation’s glory, I cannot help but see and think about the Creator. Think about majestic mountains, a butterfly’s wings, and the expansive, starry night sky—awesome, right? Has God’s handiwork ever taken your breath away with wonder and awe? 2. Noticing God’s Glory in Your Body. Some of the most interesting videos I’ve watched illustrate the intricacies of the human body. God created us in His image and for His glory. We are beautifully and wonderfully made. As I put on my makeup this morning, I thought about the wonders of the eye and eyelashes and how they function. As I typed on my computer’s keyboard, I looked down and noticed how my fingers move across the keys. God makes these things possible! Notice some part of your own body parts. What is the most wondrous to you? 3. Spotting God’s Glory in Quiet Rest. We might need quiet and solitude for our own benefit, but more crucially, we need it to develop yeda—the deep, experiential, intimate knowledge of our glorious God. I’ve carved out special times and places to rest and recuperate, to be still and know that God is God—to discover who He is, how He operates, and what He has done. Do you have a regular or special times of quiet rest with God? Where have you spotted God’s glory in the Bible, or sensed His glorious voice speaking to your heart? 4. Observing God’s Glory in People Believe it or not, we can see God’s glory in His people and in unbelievers. I saw God’s glory in people at church who came alongside me recently as I struggled with the effects of chemo. They operated as the Lord’s hands and ears, and served me in my time of need. They reflected the glory of Christ, and I thank God for them. This week, I also thought about a unbelieving neighbor. God says we’re all made in His image or likeness (Gen. 1:26-27). I asked the Lord to help me envision how this neighbor might be transformed by Christ. People can sometimes irk and frustrate us, but observing them through God’s eyes can open our own eyes to how He might want to work in the hearts of those who yet do not know Him. Think about a fellow believer who manifests God’s glory in your life. Now consider a “difficult” person or an unbeliever you rub shoulders with regularly. How might you respond to them diffferently with a “God’s eyes” perspective? 5. Discovering God’s Glory through Creativity This week, I took something broken in my home and transformed it into something beautiful. It reminded me that God takes broken people and glorious saves them! I also listened to a Christmas concernt online—yes, in October—and rejoiced in the lyrics that honored God. Hobbies and expressions of art are not just for us. God can use our creativity. What skills or creative outlets can you use to glorify Him this week? Think about where you see God’s glory in the everyday. It might surprise you!
